a wrong turn
a wrong turn around Folsom Lake + 15 extra minutes of driving led us to an even better shooting spot than the one I had picked out previously— the best twist of fate a photographer could ask for. this dreamy lakeside beach had it all; rocks to climb on, a woodsy trail, trees to frame the skyline, a sandy beach, and best of all, big stretches of smooth, neutral tones for the most gorgeous “negative space” photos. as kendra & rio and I shot photos and chattered away, we nearly forgot about the chilly day in the joy of chasing each other around the lake.

“As a couple who both feel awkward in front of a camera, working with Miranda on our engagement photos was a dream. Miranda knows how to make anyone feel comfortable during a shoot, gives the best cues on positioning, and most of all, has one of the most phenomenal artistic views. She can take any location and find the perfect photo spots that I never would have guessed would make a good photo. My fiancé and I feel like Miranda captured our love and joy perfectly and know we will treasure the photos from this shoot for many years to come.”
