rachel + daniel in love

I love photography because I love documenting people’s stories. and oh man, I REALLY love theirs. it’s the story of two people running after Jesus and stumbling upon each other along the way. it’s the story of two missionaries called to bring the Gospel to their neighbors and the nations, and being given the gift of one another to aid in the task. it’s a story written by their Creator before the dawn of time, designed purposefully to bring them into deeper relationship not only with each other, but with God Himself.

we began the shoot by praying together, as is my practice as much as possible before photoshoots. what struck me, though, was how much it meant to daniel that we did this— rachel told me later that he joyfully repeated what had happened to others back at home after the shoot, with his greatest point of excitement being that we prayed together before shooting. what a joy to do life with people who love Jesus!

I love all types of photography, but photographing missionary couples and families holds an unspeakably special place in my heart. you know it’s a good photoshoot when you drive away yearning to love God even more than you did at the start of the hour.

rachel & daniel, I can’t wait to see the rest of the story God has woven for you.
