marta on film

marta may be the coolest human alive. she makes motherhood look like the cover of an anthropologie magazine. she is THE vibe, you literally can’t get vibe-ier. so when she reached out to me to do her maternity session, ON FILM ALONE, you can imagine my excitement level!

one of my favorite things about this family is their desire for authenticity. marta wanted REAL photos, without too much posing, of their beautiful lives as they really were. as a lifestyle photographer at heart, nothing could have made me happier. we took photos in her parents’ front yard at sunrise as she leisurely finished her coffee and her toddler slowly woke up. no stress, just friendship and art-making.

these are my ultimate feel-good photos; not only did I just about die of excitement when I got the scans back (with a toddler + the unpredictability of film, you never know exactly how it’s going to turn out until the moment you get the email from the developers), but the morning was so enjoyable that it makes me smile when I think of it.
